About Joshua Stevens

After spending several years establishing my business, things were looking great. The business was making a solid profit and I was able to afford more of the things that I wanted. It was at that point that I decided it was time to buy some land and build my own cabin in the woods.

When I started the project, my first thought was to use a kit. After looking at some of the designs, I decided that working with a contractor to come up with an original design was a better choice.

Hiring a professional to help me with the design and the construction of the cabin taught me many things that I didn’t know. For example, I learned that choosing the right type of wood for the inside and outside walls is very important. I had no idea that there were so many ways to arrange the inside so that it was space and energy efficient. The contractor also introduced me to some options for heating that had never occurred to me before.

If you are reading this, then I’m betting that you are thinking of building a cabin too. Keep reading, and I’ll share some of the things that I learned early on about this kind of project. Hopefully, what I have to say will help you avoid making some of the more common mistakes, and end up having your dream cabin without wasting a lot of time or money.
